In 2023, we embarked on a remarkable historical walking tour, celebrating the centennial anniversary of Leeds Jane Culbreth Library. This enchanting journey uncovered the various locations of our public library, delving into its captivating history, the remarkable individuals who shaped it, and other historical markers that make Leeds truly unique.

Our next adventure awaits on April 13, 2024 from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm, with a walking tour that transports you back to Leeds in 1940. Brace yourself for a day filled with re-enactors embodying Leeds residents, offering an immersive glimpse of a bustling Saturday in April 1940. As you stroll through the streets, vintage vehicles, era-appropriate music, and a tour of the Leeds Railroad Depot will surround you, recreating the atmosphere of a bygone era. Engage in the children's area with 1940s games, and let the air resonate with the melodies of the time.

Get ready to swing into history with the electrifying Green Wave Jazz ensemble! Join us for a spectacular afternoon of music and memories with our "Leeds-Swinging into History" concert, a 45-minute journey through the swing and popular tunes of the early 1940s.
Date & Time: The musical time machine kicks off at 2:30 PM sharp! 
Location: Immerse yourself in the rhythm at the Leeds Green Space, nestled on 1st Ave South between 7th and 8th Streets on Saturday, April 13, 2024 right after the Leeds Downtown Walking Tour that will be held from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm.
